How to identify a Honey Bee Swarm
There are many flying, stinging insects: bumble bees, honey bees, wasps, hornets, yellowjackets, etc. To many people, these are all “bees” – something to fear, and to kill whenever possible. But Honeybees are different – something to protect and cherish, not fear!
These are NOT bee swarms
The following two pictures show wasp and yellowjacket nests. These are NOT honeybees! Although all creatures have a place in nature, these bad guys are much more likely to sting you than are the gentle honeybee. We do NOT remove these guys – you will need to destroy the nests yourself or call pest control if you wish. Be careful!
Honey Bee Swarms
The following images show typical honeybee swarms. Note that there is no nest, no comb, no hive – just a mass of thousands of small bees, with many more likely flying around. If what you have looks like this, it is likely a honeybee swarm, and we will gladly come and take them away!
